Today we’re going to be taking a look at the Camco RV refrigerator vent cover in black. Part number CAM42163. It’s also available in white. Part number CAM42160. This vent cover keeps dirt and debris off your RV’s refrigerator vent. Here you see it in black, we have the white one installed.

It’s made out of an UV resistant polypropylene, so it’s going to be durable and stand up to harsh rays. It fits Camco, Domestic, and newer Norcold bases, and the installation hardware is included. It can even be cut out to accommodate your solar panel. It’s intended for a base that’s 26 inches long and seven and a half inches wide. It’s a very simple installation. After removing your old vent cover you’ll simply take the mounting brackets, you’ll attach them to the base, you want to make sure that they’re in the upward position like that.

Then once you get those mounted, with the smaller screws first, you’ll then take your new vent cover, align that up, make sure it sets in place, and then you’ll take the longer screws and choose the appropriate hole. That’s going to complete our look at the Camco RV refrigerator vent cover.

  1. Where is the fresh air intake? I was wondering because Camping World replaced mine and now that end of the camper is extremely hot including the roof, interior ceilings and walls adjacent to the refrigerator on the inside. I took it back and they said they ran it for hours and it didn’t get hot and suggested I run the air conditioner but I never had to do that with the old roof vent. It’s just that one corner where the refrigerator is that seems to be overheating. I was just wondering if there are some tabs or something that need to be removed to allow the fresh air in It’s a real concern because even the roof membrane is starting to get tacky when I use the refrigerator for any length of time, and I did notice The cover is mounted almost flush with the top of the roof pouring hot air out all the time and the fridge never cools down enough that you would want to put fresh food in it. I mean it’s like 70° all the time but the freezer portion does get down enough to freeze a little bottle of water. It wouldn’t be that big of an issue for me if not for the $700 I paid out on the repair. Any suggestions would be appreciate this really stressing me and my family out trying to get some last days of camping in up here in Minnesota.
