This is our MaxxAir Vent Cover installation. We only got the one AC unit in our Rockwood 2706ws. The bathroom vent fan already had a MaxxAir Fanmate Vent Cover installed from the factory, but the vent in the living area and the bedroom were getting full of leaves and branches when we were camping, so we would have to climb up there and clear them out before we could put them down to go home. The vent in the bedroom also let in a ton of light, so hopefully this will help us sleep a bit better.
MaxxAir Vent Cover:
There are 2 main brands of RV vent cover, but these ones came highly recommended. They have a MaxxAir Vent Cover and a MaxAir Vent Cover II. We just went with the original MaxxAir because they were a lot cheaper and I couldn’t figure out what made the others so much more expensive. In other words, the jury is still out on MaxxAir vs MaxxAir II!
They are really easy to do, but since we were doing it, we figured we would film all of the steps in case anyone was looking for a video on how to install the MaxxAir Vent Cover.
Overall the whole process of installing the vent cover takes about 10 minutes per vent. You just need to
1) mark the holes once you get the vent cover centered over the RV vent,
2) mark where the L-bracket should go (as close to the corners as you can),
3) drill the holes out to 3/16″,
4) attach the L-brackets to the vent frame
5) insert the carriage bolts into the slot on the L-brackets
6) place MaxxAir vent cover over carriage bolts,
7) tighten with a 9/16″ socket wrench
Very easy to do and does seem to make it a lot darker in the bedroom with all the blinds shut. I think it will be worth the month and glad we finally got around to this fun little RV upgrade.
That’s a wrap for our MaxxAir Vent Cover install. Inch by inch, we’re getting the Rockwood just right for us! It’s the little stuff that gets you excited to get out there and make those memories with the ones that matter most! That is #WhyWeWork! See you on the next adventure!

Have you ever had to climb up on the roof to clear out leaves and branches?!
Great video
I’d suggest losing the music and commentate what you’re doing as you do it. That would make this much more useful.
Great video.
Bought a RV inspecting the roof a installer tightened Bolts too tight and cracked the plastic . I’m going to remove cover and do repairs and some type of cushion then a little sealant .
